Tapas are organized by ingredient (potatoes, vegetables, fish, eggs and meat).

You can choose the ingredients and the application will show all the tapas that contain it.

Each card contains a photo, ingredients, preparation and possible variations of that tapa.

According to tradition, tapas originated in the time of King Alfonso X the Wise, as he was obliged to eat small snacks with little sips of wine between meals after an illness.

Because of this, the King decreed that taverns should always serve alcoholic beverages accompanied by a little something to eat. This was to prevent the alcohol from harming the drinkers, as most of the time they did not have enough money to pay for a proper meal.

When inns became common all over Spain, they began to cover the glasses and mugs with a slice of cooked meat, ham or cheese, which had two purposes:
-To prevent dirt or insects from falling in the drink.
-To have some solid food with the alcohol, as Alfonso X the Wise recommended.
So began this deeply rooted Spanish tradition, TAPAS (cover).

Nowadays, this tradition is more vibrant than ever. In Spain, going out for beer and tapas has become a ritual and quite an art. It has also spread beyond the borders of Spain and tapas have become a trend that is growing in many countries in the world.
